Adequate heating, cooling, lighting and energy to power appliances are essential services. These are needed to guarantee a decent standard of living and health. However, more than 50 million households in the EU do not have access to adequate energy services.
This is what’s called energy poverty.
To improve knowledge on energy poverty in Europe and strengthen innovative policies and practices to combat it, the EU energy poverty observatory brings together different sources of data and knowledge from across the EU.
This 40-month project, which kicked off in December 2016, provides a range of useful resources, including:
- an indicator dashboard
- evidence repository
- catalogue of practical policies and measures
- training material
- members’ directory
- discussion forums.
You can also register as a member: it’s free and lets you interact with other key stakeholders, access members-only content and discover new collaboration opportunities.
