Do young people across Europe have the same opportunities in life? What is EU youth policy, and how is it making a difference? Which youth initiatives are working best in Europe?
For the answers to these and many other questions, look no further than Youthmetre.eu — a project that seeks to bring young people and policy-makers closer together.
Youthmetre combines data on EU youth policy with national data on a number of issues affecting young people (such as education, employment, health and social inclusion) to create an interactive map showing variations in the Youth Development Index across EU regions: in other words, how successfully different regions are responding to young people’s needs. The map also highlights some of the best initiatives focusing on these issues, while a data dashboard provides a snapshot of how different parts of Europe are performing.
Last but not least, the Youthmetre project offers a set of resources, ranging from an e-tool kit to an open Moodle course, to empower young people and get them actively involved in EU youth policy. Everything is free to access, use online or download.
So, if you’re under 30 and want to have your say on policy-making — or if you’re older than that but would like to know more about what the EU is doing for young people — Youthmetre is for you!
