Participate in the GreenData4All public consultation until Wednesday 30 April: Your voice matters!

Help shape the future of environmental data in Europe

As part of its effort to support the green and digital transitions, the European Commission invites all stakeholders to take part in a public consultation under the GreenData4All initiative. The consultation is open to a wide audience – including EU citizens, environmental and geospatial data experts, businesses, NGOs, academia, and international partners – and aims to gather feedback on how to improve access to and reuse of environmental data across Europe.

The GreenData4All initiative addresses the growing need for better sharing of environmental data, which is crucial for developing effective policies that protect our environment and foster a strong data economy in the EU. Its objectives include improving data access to boost competitiveness and innovation across the EU, supporting environmental policy through user-focused data services, and promoting digital transformation by modernising data-sharing frameworks. This includes updating the INSPIRE Directive, and aligning it with other EU data legislation, including the Open Data Directive and the Data Governance Act

Participants are invited to share their views by completing the online questionnaire, which will remain open until 30 April 2025. Insights from the consultation will help shape future EU policy on environmental and geospatial data, ensuring that it meets the needs of users and supports Europe’s broader goals for sustainability and digital transformation.
