Open data portals around Europe - Poland
Explore over 43 000 datasets with advanced tools on dane.gov.pl
Poland’s national open data portal, dane.gov.pl, serves as a central platform for accessing public data across a wide range of sectors, from infrastructure and energy to education and public finance. With more than 43 000 datasets and contributions from over 500 public and private publishers, the portal supports transparency, civic participation and data-driven innovation.
Designed with both casual users and data professionals in mind, the portal offers a streamlined search experience, ready-to-use data visualisations, and access to data in machine-readable formats. Datasets are enriched with standardised metadata to support reuse and cross-border interoperability. Users can also submit requests for additional datasets, encouraging interaction between the public and data providers.
One of the portal’s most notable strengths is its strong focus on usability. In the Open Data Maturity Report 2024, Poland was the only EU country to score 100% in portal dimension - highlighting features like accessibility, multilingual support, and integration of feedback mechanisms. Developers also benefit from access to an API and a SPARQL endpoint for advanced queries.
To better understand how open data creates value, Poland carried out a national impact assessment, interviewing 600 companies about their use of public data. This practical approach to evaluating outcomes sets an example for other providers of open data portals. Whether you're looking for statistics, exploring policy data or building your own application, dane.gov.pl offers a robust gateway to discover and reuse Poland’s public data.
