Learn to leverage open data for business through comprehensive courses and webinars

The data.europa.eu Academy offers a comprehensive learning experience with 12 courses divided into seven themes: Business, Communication, Impact, Legal, Policy, Portal, and Quality. Users can easily navigate through these themes by filtering the options on the left side of the Academy page. This setup ensures that learners can quickly find the courses most relevant to their interests and needs.

The lessons in these courses are primarily based on previous webinars, with new content added as new webinars take place. For those interested in the Business theme, there are four courses that offer materials on the subject. For example, ‘Incorporating open data into your application’ helps developers and businesses integrate open data into their applications, covering how to find hidden data and how to use or enhance applications.

Creating your business with open data’ focuses on using open data to create or enhance products and services, highlighting its value and benefits through different business models and initiatives. ‘Measuring the impact of open data’ explores the benefits of open data and how to measure its impact, covering methods, best practices, and insights from the Use Case Observatory. ‘Improving open data and metadata quality’ teaches how to provide and collect high-quality data and metadata, covering data cleaning, choosing the right format, and understanding quality open data, along with recommended guidelines and citizen-generated data challenges.

If you are familiar with the Academy and seeking fresh content, don't miss the webinar ‘New Business Models for Data-Driven Services’, which explores reusing public sector open data and introduces various business models for data-driven public services, accessing the recording and the slides. As the data.europa.eu Academy grows, more insightful lessons will be available to help users fully exploit open data's potential. Stay tuned for the next news piece about the other themes!
